What is the best way to install a Sony DVD/CD RW to my Dell Inspiron 530?

It is a Sony DVD/CD RW Drive Unit Model # DRU-720A, I do not have any cables or software as of yet. Thanks!

You don’t need any software, the drivers are part of Windows. You do need an 80 wire ribbon cable ( or a SATA cable if it is a SATA drive) that you can attach to the motherboard on the secondary IDE channel and then connect to the optical drive.

If it is an IDE drive you could also use the existing ribbon cable that connects to your hard drive,( if that is the only IDE device on the cable), by attaching the unused connector in the middle of the cable to your optical drive. If you do it this way, set the jumper on the drive to SLAVE.
