Its getting annoying. Is it a settings problem or do I need a new dvd player?
Its running just through the tv in stereo.

(and thats meant to be louder not loader… :-/

check the speaker settings. adjust the center speaker level up and erhaps the left and right channels down. try different dvd’s to see that it’s not just this one

That sounds strange as a song is compressed so I think you would have to have a special device to change the loudness of voice between music. Mind check if you television/dvd sound settings are correct and if you know how to go back and forth with them experiment and see if it improves. :)

Does it have surround sound? Mine does and it did the same thing. I fixed it by changing the sound settings using the sound field button on the remote control.

It depends on your setup. Are you running a surround sound system or going directly off your tv.
In a surround sound system, the Center Channel or speaker is used to accentuate the voice. So if you are forcing a stereo system into a surround sound system your voice will be softer. I would suggest running your surround sound system in stereo mode.
