Why won’t my ArcSoft PhotoStudio open the jpeg images I copy from my Sony digital camera?

I successfully copied photos off the same camera and opened them in PhotoStudio a few weeks ago. Now, though, PhotoStudio finds any new photo from the camera "unable to open". Why??

Well, don’t use any photo program to copy your images to your computer … just use your file manager to do that. Once on your computer, ArcSoft will be able to open your jpegs.
