Will sony ever release Downloadable ps2 games on the playstation store or is this not possible? I have a 40GB ps3 so I can’t play them on my system

I doubt it.

Since an 80GB is out with backwards compatibility, there would be no need to.

    The newest PS3s dont support PS2 playback.
    Until PS2 playback is featured n future PS3s,rest assured that there will be no PS2 games on PSN.

    Probably a few of the biggest games, which have PS3 sequels (God of War seems like a likely candidate to me). But since they would have to re-engineer each game individually, it won’t be a common practice and probably won’t be something third-parties use much if at all.
