would it be cheaper for me to buy a sony book reader than books each semester?

Im a freshmen in college and i plan to get my AS and major there and im going to have to buy lots of books for my major what should i do buy a sony book reader or buy books and sell them back after?

Right now there are some textbooks available for electronic readers, but not all.

I’ll say don’t get the Sony Reader because many users complain that it is difficult to find some books for the Sony Reader, not to say textbooks. Amazon Kindle has more content available, and it is more easy for you to find textbooks on it. Since the Kindle DX is launched, Amazon signed contract with three main textbook publishers so more and more textbooks will be availble for the Kindle.

I’m a Kindle 2 owner and I’ve some textbooks on my Kindle. But other than that, I’ve bought quite a lot of other books in Kindle version and they are much cheaper than actual books. It is also convenient to do everything in the handy device.

Finally, I remember I read these reviews when I decided to get the e-book reader:

question, not a statement: you say college textbooks are now available in electronic versions for sony reader?

It might be, but you might not be able to get all of the books you need on there, and then you would need to buy some books and that would defeat the purpose and you would end up having to spend a lot of money.

If you do end up getting one of those book things, though, make sure you get the Sony model and not the Amazon Kindle. The Sonys look so much better than the Kindles.

    Good luck

Buy your books and sell them to incoming students or book stores. You have the potential to get 100% of your money back that way, whereas you have 0 potential to get any of your money back using the Sony Book Reader.
