YouTube Tech – Bang for the Buck Camcorders

Sony DV cameras such as the Digital8 format camcorders and the MiniDV camcorders are great bang for the buck and can be found used for $150 and up. I like Sony because they all have both USB and Firewire ports that can plug directly into the computer for direct capture or for dumping taped footage.

    Can you reccomend me a good camera that is like $150 or less at Wal-Mart or Best-Buy. And it CANT run on tapes. I want one that stores it on a SD card or Hard Drive. It also needs USB connection.

    I bought a sony digital 8 (brand new)and it had a very noticable motor noise which picked up bad. I took it back and the replacement was exactly the same. odd for sony.

    Good video thanks for posting.I use a sony trv/218 great picture quality and great zoom.But when i edit i play it through my dvd+rw player to record to disc then pause record to remove unwanted bits.Its a bit basic but ive just videoed a wedding and they loved it.

    Try out the MS Movie Maker (free at Microsoft, also installed on every WinXP installation) … with this you can import the videos from the cam.
